The Robert C. Sweeney Scholarship Fund was established by President Robert C Sweeney of Ironworkers Local #399 upon his retirement in 2012. The Scholarship Fund will continue unfunded until the existing funds are depleted. Sons, daughters, and grand children of active Ironworkers Local #399 members are eligible for the scholarship award. Each year three (3) scholarships of $3,000.00 will be presented.
Applicants must be a senior in high school, a high school graduate, a GED recipient or currently attending a post secondary school to be eligible. ·
Only sons, daughters, stepchildren, adopted children, grandchildren or court appointed custodial children of an active member of Ironworkers Local #399 with three (3) or more years of continuous service at the time of their child's application unless the member is deceased and was in good standing at the time of death, are eligible to participate. ·
Applicants must submit a completed application form within the specified deadline. ·
Scholarship winners must attend an accredited college or university or post secondary school of their choice within the year of which they are awarded the scholarship. ·
Awards will be payable directly to the post secondary school. ·
recipients will be picked by an appointed academic selector.
